Full-Stack Engineer
Own complete product flows across FingerTrip’s consumer experiences, APIs, data model, and operational systems. Help turn place, route, social, and preference data into a product people can trust wherever they go.
How we work
We work primarily on Mac, with Notion as our shared workspace and Claude, Codex, or Cursor as everyday building tools. Experience with them is welcome; curiosity and a willingness to learn them are essential.
What you will do
- Build end-to-end product flows across React, TypeScript, server APIs, and PostgreSQL.
- Design APIs and data models for discovery, saved places, trips, social features, and personalization.
- Improve reliability, security, observability, caching, and performance across production systems and third-party integrations.
- Take a feature from open question to shipped and measured, including the operational work that keeps it healthy afterwards.
What we are looking for
- Strong full-stack TypeScript and relational database experience, including API and schema design.
- Sound engineering judgment across product velocity, correctness, privacy, cost, and production debugging.
- Comfort taking broad ownership and collaborating directly with product, design, and operations.
- An instinct for keeping systems simple, and the discipline to leave them documented and debuggable for whoever comes next.
Nice to have
- Experience running production systems on GCP or AWS, including containers, serverless services, queues, or event-driven systems.
- Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, recommender systems, maps, routing, real-time products, analytics, or Rust/WASM.
- Experience at an early-stage company where you owned a surface rather than a ticket queue.
